FluxDesign / Privacy

App Privacy Policy.

A clear view of the information our apps use, where it goes, and the choices you have.

Effective and last updated

The short version

Our utility apps primarily work with information on your device. They do not include advertising, cross-app tracking, or developer-operated analytics.

Some features connect to outside services. Those connections, support emails, and visits to this website are explained below.

01. Who this policy covers

FluxDesign is the independent software studio of Amir Bouzardjomehri (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy applies to FluxDesign utility apps that link to it and to this website.

Features and permissions differ by app and edition. A feature described here does not mean every app uses it. Where an app provides a dedicated notice, read that notice for its specific practices, controls, and retention periods: Battery Scout privacy policy, Still privacy policy, and Meridian privacy policy.

This policy does not cover a future LifeVault account, document-storage, or emergency-access service. Any such service will need its own privacy notice before launch.

02. Information on your device

Depending on the features you use, an app may read or store:

  • Settings and system information: preferences, layouts, display information, battery and power readings, processor and memory activity, running apps, and local diagnostic history.
  • Workspace information: Dock settings, window information or previews, and files or folders you select. Window previews may require Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions.
  • Calendar and media information: events, track titles, artists, artwork, and playback state for optional calendar or music controls.
  • Network information: device addresses, names, services, and scan results when you use network-discovery tools.

This information is used to deliver the app’s features on your device. Our utility apps do not automatically upload these local records to a FluxDesign server. Network features can send the information described in the next section.

Permissions are requested through macOS or iOS where required. You can decline or revoke them in System Settings or Settings; the related feature may then be unavailable.

03. Features that go online

Some apps are entirely local. Others make connections for particular features. The receiving service normally sees your IP address and the information needed for the request.

  • Weather and location: Meridian sends a selected location’s coordinates to Open-Meteo for weather. Searching for a city sends that search to Open-Meteo. Its optional one-time location action uses Apple’s location and geocoding services. Details and coordinate precision are in Meridian’s network notice.
  • Music artwork: apps with media controls may request artwork from the service identified by the music app, such as Spotify’s image servers.
  • Connection checks: Meridian periodically checks latency against Cloudflare’s one.one.one.one or a host you choose. This check is enabled by default and can be disabled in the app.
  • Software-update checks: UpdateGuard can query Apple, Homebrew, package registries, or app vendors using software identifiers and version information. Its offline mode avoids these checks.
  • Network tools: scanning and lookup features communicate with the devices, addresses, or services you ask them to inspect.

These services process requests under their own privacy policies. A web page opened from an app may also use its own cookies and storage. Check the app’s settings and dedicated notice for the controls available in your edition; some connections run automatically while the corresponding feature is active.

04. Support, this website, and Apple

Support: if you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond, investigate issues, and maintain a support record. Please avoid sending passwords or sensitive documents. Email is processed by our email service provider.

This website: our hosting provider, IONOS, receives ordinary connection data, which may be recorded in server logs, such as IP address, request time, requested page, browser information, and referring page. This supports delivery, security, and troubleshooting. We do not add advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics scripts to this privacy page.

Apple services: Apple processes App Store downloads and purchases, and may provide us with store reports or diagnostics according to its policies and your sharing settings. We do not receive your payment-card details from Apple. See Apple’s privacy information and your device’s Analytics & Improvements settings.

05. How information is used and shared

We use information we receive to provide support, operate and protect our website, resolve problems, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.

Hosting and email providers process information as needed to deliver their services. Where a provider handles personal information on our behalf, we require it to protect that information and use it only to provide the service. Feature providers described above independently receive the requests sent to them.

We may disclose information if required by applicable law or when necessary to protect legal rights or investigate abuse. Exporting a report or sharing a file is your choice; the recipient will receive whatever the export contains.

06. Storage, deletion, and your choices

App preferences, histories, caches, and reports are generally stored on your device. Retention varies by feature: some data is temporary, some histories have an in-app retention setting, and saved reports may remain until you delete them. For example, Battery Scout offers 1-, 3-, or 7-day history retention and a Clear all history control.

Use the app’s available clear-history or reset controls to remove stored information. Removing an app may leave preferences or support files behind. Device backups may retain copies according to your backup settings and provider’s practices.

We keep support correspondence only as long as reasonably needed for the request, ongoing support, or legal obligations. Website logs follow our hosting provider’s retention practices. Ask us about removing information you have sent us; we cannot remotely erase information stored only on your device.

You can stop a feature, revoke a permission, disable supported online functions, or stop using an app. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, receive a copy of, or restrict or object to the use of personal information we hold. Contact us below to make a request or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also contact your local data-protection authority.

07. Security and children’s privacy

We use reasonable safeguards for information we handle. Local app data also depends on your device security, account access, and backup settings. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Our apps are general-purpose utilities and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can address it.

08. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will also be explained through the relevant app or release information as appropriate. App-specific notices and App Store privacy disclosures should be read alongside this policy.
